About DCVS

Dudley Council for Voluntary Service was established in 1974

A Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) is an independent local voluntary organisation that exists to support, promote and develop local voluntary action. Dudley CVS was established in 1974. We act as an umbrella body for the community and voluntary sector in Dudley and we are one of more than 280 CVS organisation promoting effective voluntary action throughout England.

As a CVS, we have a strong commitment to working in partnership with voluntary organisations, community groups and other relevant bodies, such as local and central government.

The voluntary, community and faith sector is increasingly expected to meet higher levels of professionalism and effectiveness. Consequently, there is a growing need for the support and advice that is offered by the CVS network. Dudley CVS holds the prestigious NAVCA (National Association for Voluntary & Community Action) Quality Award for the high standard of our core services.

We are a membership organisation of local independent voluntary and community groups that pursue a variety of charitable objectives for the benefit of the community in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley.

Dudley CVS is a Registered Charity (No. 517766) and a Company Limited by Guarantee in England and Wales (No. 1998105). We are a non profit-making organisation and independent from government. Our registered office is: 7, Albion Street, Brierley Hill, Dudley, West Midlands, DY5 3EE.
