Care Project
| User & Carer Forums |
There are currently six Community Care forums; plus Action for Disabled People and Carers (ADC) which is made up of representatives from the other forums. The forums provide the opportunity for people with physical or sensory impairments, and people who are unpaid carers to exchange information and experiences and to discuss common issues and barriers which they all face. From their common experiences they aim to influence the planning of Local Authority Services and Primary Care Health Services in the Dudley Borough.
The Community Care Project offers support to help people to attend the meetings: this may be minutes and related paperwork in their preferred format - standard form, Braille, large print, or audio; or assistance with transport for those who need it.
Most of the forums meet on a 6-8 week cycle; Dudley Carer's Forum meets monthly. For further information on the forums and details of meetings and venues please contact the Dudley CVS Community Care Development Officer Geraldine Walker on 01384 267427 |

| About the Forums |
Action for Disabled People & Carers (ADC)
ADC forum is made up of representatives from all the other forums so it is a multi-disability forum. Representatives meet every 6-8 weeks to share information and discuss issues that affect them, or barriers they have experienced that affect their access to local services. ADC then represents the range of views to the people who make the decisions about local services so as to reduce barriers and improve access for all. ADC meets regularly with decision makers from Dudley Council (the Local Authority) and Dudley Primary Care Trust (i.e. the Health Service) |

Dudley Users Forums - Carer
A borough wide forum for parents and carers of people with learning disabilities. They discuss issues of common interest and promote the interests of carers and the people they care for to the Local Authority and Primary Care Trust. |

Hear Here
A borough wide forum for people who have acquired hearing loss or a hearing impairment. They share information and discuss issues that they face in relation to services and equipment. They meet at the Hearing Impaired Unit, Wellington Road, Dudley, when there is a hearing loop. |

Liaise
A borough wide forum for people who have a physical disability, or other mobility issues. |
| |
Offsight
A borough wide forum for people with a visual impairment. Their aim is to improve access to services for all visual impaired or blind people in Dudley. They liaise closely with the many different groups for people with visual impairment in the Dudley Borough. |

Dudley Carers' Forum
A forum representing carers' issues and campaigning on behalf of all carers within the Borough to the Local Authority and others.
Volunteers from the forum run a support line called carer2carer helpline - telephone number: 01384 482980, as well as the website www.carer2carer.com
Carers' forum meets the first Wednesday of each month from 11.00-2.00pm. |

Integrated Living Team (ILT)
This forum is for present and former clients of the Integrated Living Team which covers people aged
16-64 with a physical disability or acquired brain injury. They exchange information and discuss issues of interest with each other and staff from the Integrated Living Team.
The forum meets at the Queens Cross Centre, Wellington Road, Dudley. |
