Two roles: one working in Wolverhampton, the other in Dudley.
Employed by: Dudley Council for Voluntary Services (Dudley CVS), or Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council on behalf of Black Country Together CIC.
Salary: £26,511 – £27,741
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Fixed Term for 24 months (with possible extension subject to performance and funding)
Black Country Together CIC has 2 exciting new opportunities for people who are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of their community and are experienced in grassroots community engagement.
The Black Country has some of the highest levels of physical inactivity nationally with the lives of Black Country residents determined by a unique set of characteristics including high levels of deprivation, low skill levels and high unemployment and health inequalities.
This exciting programme, funded by Sport England and Active Black Country and working in partnership with Local Authorities, aims to use the 2022 Commonwealth Games as a catalyst to inspire people to lead a more active lifestyle and builds on its predecessor pilot programme, ‘Black Country Moving’ and the broad body of evidence collected from its delivery.
These new Community Connectors will carry out a variety of outreach activities to engage with people in local communities. The successful candidates will bring experience of working with a wide range of both voluntary and community organisations and public bodies in order to maximise the breadth of local assets available, improving and developing activities that provide local people with the opportunity to move more and be physically active.
Both roles will include a requirement to work and travel across the city / borough in which the post is based.
