An opportunity to join Cranstoun Here4YOUth as a young people’s substance misuse worker based within Dudley Council’s Families Come First team. The role is to help families understand the impact of alcohol/drug use and provide support to young people to make positive changes around their substance use.
Cranstoun Here4YOUth provides a range of services for young people using drugs or alcohol as part of a wider health and wellbeing service providing a safe space for young people to talk about what’s on their mind. The team works closely with young people and their families to change and save lives. The team combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches, actively involving people in improving the design of the services provided.
Families Come First within Dudley Council is a child in need service which provides support to children up to the age of 17, alongside their parents and/or carers. The team is a mix of professionals with a wide range of skills and expertise.
Working in a trauma-informed approach, you will provide specialist assessments, care planning and interventions around drugs and alcohol use. You will deliver 1:1 and group, evidence-based psychosocial and educational brief and structured interventions, taking a whole family approach. Where required, you will support in the delivery of clinical interventions, including prescribing, drug screening and other physical health interventions.

Salary: £23,953 – £26,975 per annum depending on experience
Hours: 35 per week
Location: Dudley (Local Authority – Families Come First Team)
Contract: Fixed term – 12 months
