As part of their Apprenticeship Growth Project, Wolverhampton University are offering a free 6-week programme for people who are interested in higher level apprenticeships but feel apprehensive about applying and maybe needing some additional support. It is aimed at people aged 18+ who are currently employed or have left sixth form/college.
The programme uses a Skills Builder framework to focus on the essential skills for beginning an apprenticeship in higher education, including:
- Career pathways
- Identifying your strengths
- Completing application forms
- Academic writing
- Using the university library
- Referencing
- Presentations
- Speaking in public
- Listening skills
- Aiming high
- Staying positive
Additional support with Maths and English is available if required.
The Skills Coordinator is happy to meet and discuss bespoke approaches, with flexibility around the content of the Skills Builder element and the option of online or in person delivery.
