Learning for Me is a free community learning project delivered by Dudley Council Adult and Community Learning, aimed at supporting adults aged 19 and over across the Dudley borough who are currently economically inactive.
The project offers a range of welcoming and inclusive wellbeing‑focused workshops designed to help individuals improve confidence, manage stress, and take positive steps back into learning, volunteering, or employment. Sessions are informal, supportive, and do not require any previous qualifications or experience.
Learning for Me is particularly suited to adults who may be facing barriers such as low confidence, mental health challenges, long‑term unemployment, caring responsibilities, or other life pressures. The project works closely with local community organisations, health services, and voluntary sector partners to ensure support is accessible and relevant.
Workshops take place throughout the year in community venues across Dudley, including neighbourhood centres, health hubs, and partner locations. Topics currently include wellbeing and confidence building sessions such as Stress Less, Five Ways to Wellbeing, creative and reflective activities, and guidance to help people re‑engage with learning and personal development at their own pace.
Individuals can self‑refer, and community organisations are also welcome to refer people they are supporting. There is no cost to attend, and the focus is on creating a safe, encouraging environment where participants feel comfortable taking their first steps back into learning.
