Wolverhampton based LGPS Central, have launched a new volunteering policy that provides two additional days leave for all employees to utilise in supporting their local community.
The 80 strong work force, who manage the pooled assets of eight Midlands-based Local Government Pension Scheme funds across the central region, with assets under stewardship of £28.5 billion, have made a pledge to donate 1,000 hours of volunteering time over the next 12 months.The new volunteering policy allows employees to volunteer with local charities or associations either as individuals or teams, either in full or half days.Head of HR, Harj Kaur said, ‘We are very passionate about having a positive impact in our local communities, many of our team already undertake activities supporting groups, charities and associations and we felt it only right that we encourage this further.
