Cost of Living Crisis Hub Co-ordinators – Paid Roles

Citizens Advice Dudley and Wolverhampton are looking to recruit people on low income or currently unemployed for these paid roles
Hours: Minimum 21hrs (3 days) up to 35hrs (5 days) a week
Salary: Up to £24,012 per annum pro rata (dependent on experience/skills (£12.48 ph)
Length of opportunity: January 2023 (12 months) – may be extended
Hub Locations:
- Dudley – Provision House: Monday, Friday
- Brierley Hill – Brierley Hill Methodist Church: Thursdays
- Halesowen – Halesowen Library: Wednesday
- Stourbridge – Christ Church (Lye): Tuesday
An exciting opportunity to join an army of staff (paid and volunteers) to work in Cost of Living Crisis hubs, funded by DMBC Public Health, to respond to the crisis that many people will be facing this winter, and beyond, because of the financial increases in many areas (termed cost of living crisis).
Cost of living crisis hubs will help those that are struggling to make ends meet by delivering a number of different activities to help alleviate financial stress to individuals.
- Giving charitable payments e.g. household support funds
- Distributing food vouchers
- Distributing fuel vouchers
- Helping to save money (using specific tools)
- Helping to do a benefit check
- Giving immediate energy advice
- Signposting (internal and external) for any further urgent/immediate support
The Cost of living crisis hub co-ordinators will work with management to set up the hubs, make sure the hubs are working well, co-ordinate paid staff and volunteers so appropriate resource is in each one, and support the staff in the hubs to deliver the activities mentioned.
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED – ALL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED DURING JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2023
For this role you will be:
- IT literate (be able to use email, access the internet)
- Organised
- Confident to talk to people to members of the public coming to the hubs
- Good communicator
- Friendly
- Empathetic and compassionate
- Want to make an immediate difference to people’s lives
- Be reliable (we need you to turn up and commit)
- Enjoy working within a team
- A driver and access to a car (for the co-ordinator roles only)

Cost of Living Crisis Hub – Volunteers
Volunteers urgently needed – NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Term of opportunity: 12 months (minimum availability to volunteer with us 3 months)
Commitment: This role requires minimum 7 hour’s (1 day – 9-4pm) commitment per week
Hub Locations: 4 x Dudley Borough Community venues
- Dudley – Provision House: Monday, Friday
- Brierley Hill – Bank Street Methodist Church: Thursdays
- Halesowen – Library: Wednesday
- Stourbridge – Christ Church (Lye): Tuesday
Starting in November, the hubs will be offering help to people who are experiencing poverty and in need of crisis help to immediately increase their finances and save money.
Our cost of living crisis hub worker will help people to alleviate immediate financial hardship by:
- Giving out charitable payments e.g. household support funds
- Distributing food vouchers
- Distributing fuel vouchers
- Helping to show people how and where they can save money
- Helping our paid staff to do a benefit check
- Helping our paid staff to give immediate energy advice
- Telling people where else they can go for help (we have these details you will share with people)
