Did you know that one in two of women over 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis? This is because after the menopause low levels of oestrogen can make bones weak. Bone health is important for us all, but especially for women going through hormonal changes. The good news is, you can take action now to protect your bones and boost your strength.
Dudley Public Health – in collaboration with Dudley adult social care, local women and Dance to health – have created Stronger For Longer.
It’s not always easy to get started. Stronger For Longer are aware of this and offer practical tips to help you get going and stay motivated. The scheme also offers 10 expert-designed exercises that you can do at a time and place to suit you.
The exercises are designed to:
– Build strength
– Protect your bones
– Improve your balance
– Boost your mood
All you need to do is 10 exercises, two or three times each week.
