World Laughter Day is an annual event that has been going since 1998 when it was started by Dr Madan Kataria, the founder of the Laughter Yoga movement. It falls on the first Sunday in May each year and Laughter Yogis around the world invite people to join their FREE Laughter Yoga sessions in their local neighbourhoods. This year it falls in the middle of the coronation weekend of festivities. There will be a session by the Hub Building at Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge, DY8 2AA on Sunday, 7th of May 2023 from 11.00 am to 12.00 noonThere are no jokes, humour or comedy in these sessions – it is a physical exercise where participants role-play everyday activities with laughter combined with deep breathing along with hand claps and energising chants. It is loud, it is fun, it is uplifiting and, as laughter is very contagious, it connects all participants in a joyful way.If anyone would like to join us, please contact ‘Merrie Maggie’ Thompson on 07565 218567 or maggie@merriemaggie.co.uk
